This candidate has responded to a Political Courage Test in a previous election. As a continued effort to provide the American public with factual information on candidates running for public office, these archived responses are made available here.
Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I support Abortion in the case of rape, incest, or for the health of a mother that may lead to her death. Abortion is a personal and private issue, although I support the Pro-Choice movement, however, I am totally against late term Abortions. Better education, more available contraception, would definitely help reduce the need for Abortions. I value human life, as well as support the need to protect the unborn, but it is up to us as individuals to make better decisions that will not lend itself to having an Abortion of an unwanted pregnancy.
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
No In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
Higher taxes for any bracket or reducing defense spending are not the answer for a Balance Budget. Our Government waste a lot of the taxpayers dollars, and in order to achieve a Balance Budget, I will call for a complete audit of all Government Departments, holding accountable Directors and Managers, for their Budgets and expenditures for their Departments to reduce over runs of cost for services and goods.
No Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
I feel that Corporations and Unions have a right to make campaign contributions for Candidates and Propositions, as long as their involvement is forth coming, as well as there is disclosure that political contributions are going to be made from Corporate earnings and Union dues. I possible would support a reasonable cap or limit on the contributions given by a Corporation or Union.
Yes Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
Federal spending is needed in order to create economic growth, along with the private sector. However, Government spending must not lead to deficits, for positive outcomes causes economic growth, and more spending money for taxpayers. I support lowering Corporate taxes, for it will create more jobs, higher salaries, as well as increase productivity, that will lead to economic growth.
No Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
I feel that local Governments should establish the standards that best meets the population of students for their school districts, in order to decrease the dropout rate. Federal standards are often restricted, and does not allow for differences in populations served, therefore, making standards less likely to be achieved. I would like to have Vocational Education Tracks as an option in High School, to provide those students that may not be able to meet the academic standards set, a career, which will reduce the dropout rate.
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
Government funding is needed in developing new sources of renewable energy, for the private sector alone cannot fund and create research in new energy sources without some Government funding, in order to leave a clean and safe environment for future generations. I support the Federal Regulations of greenhouse gas emissions for our current energy usage, however, we need to work together to develop new energy sources, so that in the future we will not have to be concerned about greenhouse gas emissions.
Yes Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
I generally support Gun Control, however, we need to do more than limit the types of guns a person can obtain. We also need to harden targets to prevent gun violence, as well as to have trained armed personal to respond to a shooting event, especially in our schools. I will introduce in Congress a Bill that will have categories for gun owners, with limitations, as well as exceptions for experience gun owners, hunters, and collectors.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
The Affordable Care Act was nothing more than a re-packaging a Healthcare System that was failing, which became a costly and expensive system for many Americans. We need new models for Healthcare, for one-system fits all does not work. I will be introducing in Congress the "Healthcare For America Act," which will have Concierge and Co-op Medical practices, for low monthly fees, as well as Healthcare Programs were premiums and deductibles are based on income, and fees for services on a sliding scale.
Yes Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
I do support a wall that will fit into the surrounding landscape that will be appealing, and environmentally friendly, along with other forms of technology to protect our border. I do not support sending illegal immigrants back to their Country of origin, before being considered for citizenship. My proposal the "Anna Rose Immigration Reform Act," will end illegal immigration; secure our borders; and give undocumented immigrants an opportunity to become a Provisional Citizen, with a pathway to citizenship within five years.
No Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
We have a drug problem in our Country, and to legalize another drug, makes very little sense. I have seen first hand how drugs, even recreational drugs can affect the behavior of an individual, as well as their judgment. I totally support the use of Marijuana for medical purposes.
Yes Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?
Yes Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support?
If negotiations fail to bring about a peaceful resolve for hostile Nations building and possessing nuclear weapons, as well as threatening our Country or other peaceful Nations, then as a last resort military force may be necessary. I support increase American intervention in the Middle East with a specific mission and plan, for as long as Countries in that region continue to have conflicts, terrorist from many groups will continue their rein of terror, which will lead to an unstable region, as well as a breeding ground for terrorist. I believe in peace through strength.
I am a Veteran, and I have defended our Constitution, and as a Tank Commander in the Army, I was responsible for the men under my command. I will introduce in Congress the "Veteran's Benefits Act," that will end backlogs and delays in Veterans receiving benefits and services. I also will introduce my "Healthcare For America Act," with several choices for consumers, Co-op Groups and Concierge Practices, with low premiums, and no deductibles, as well as other plans for low income and pre-existing conditions, with premiums and deductibles based on their income, with services received paid on a sliding scale.
